West Burlington, IA (Saturday, May 17, 2014) - Another Saturday night meant another night of racing at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, IA, as it was "Fan Appreciation Night" at the races. It was also a night of first's, as one driver earned their first career feature win, with three drivers winning their first of the season at the track, while two other drivers earned multiple wins of the season.
The night started off with the 20 lap IMCA Stock Car feature, with John Brockway and Randy Wachter leading the field to the green flag. On the restart Wenig moved back out front, with Wachter and Brockway battling for second. While Wenig paced the field out front, Tom Bowling Jr., who started 9th, and John Oliver Jr., who started 10th, were working there way to the front. Wenig, who was running up top, and Bowling Jr., who was on the bottom, ran laps 15 and 16 side-by-side, before Bowling Jr. edged out front on lap 17. But Wenig would come back on the top of the track on lap 18 to grab the lead back. Wenig then held on over the final two laps to pick up his first win of the season at the track. Bowling Jr. was 2nd, Oliver Jr. was 3rd, Brockway held on for 4th, with Jim Lynch coming from the back after getting sideways off 4 on the first lap to come home in 5th.
